受国际合作处资助,应002资讯网郭玉坤副教授的邀请,美国密歇根理工大学孙继广教授将于近日来访公司,进行学术交流并以Extended Sampling Methods for Inverse Scattering Problems为主题做四场相关的学术讲座。以下是报告信息,欢迎感兴趣的师生参加。

题目Introduction of Sampling Methods for Inverse Scattering Problems

摘要A brief introduction of the direct scattering problems will be given. Then we move on to discuss several sampling methods for the inverse scattering problems, including the linear sampling method and the factorization method. These methods usually require full aperture scattering data.

题目The Steklov Eigenvalue Problem for Inhomogeneous Media

摘要In this talk, we shall focus on the inverse scattering problem for an inhomogeneous medium. We first discuss the transmission eigenvalue problem and explain how to decide a few transmission eigenvalues from the multi-frequency full aperture data. Then we introduce a new eigenvalue problem, called the Steklov eigenvalue problem. The Steklov eigenvalues can be decided from full aperture data of a single frequency, much less data than the transmission eigenvalues. The analysis of the problem also sheds light on a new idea for inverse scattering problems using the scattering data of one incident wave.

题目The Extended Sampling Method

摘要We present a new sampling method, called the extended sampling method, for inverse scattering problems. The method uses the scattering data of one incident wave. The idea is based on the classic linear sampling method, but uses much less dat. We provide a theoretical justification for the method and provide some numerical examples.

题目Extension of ESM and Beyond

摘要We present the extended sampling method for the inverse scattering problems of elasticity waves. Then we modify the method to process the so- called limited aperture data. Furthermore, we discuss some smoothing technique to improve the reconstruction by ESM, which should work for methods such as the direct sampling method as well.

报告人简介:孙继广1996年毕业于清华大学应用数学系。在University of Delaware师从于麦克斯韦有限元方法的专家Peter Monk,获得计算机科学硕士和应用数学博士。之后在University of North Carolina, Charlotte从事博士后研究。现在任Michigan Technological University终身正教授(tenured full professor)。孙继广的研究方向包括特征值问题有限元方法和逆散射理论。近年来从事传输特征值计算的研究。从2004年至今在Inverse Problems, SIAM Journal of Numerical Analysis, Numerische Mathematik, SIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences, Journal of Computational Physics等杂志上发表60余篇文章。与中科院计算所的周爱辉教授合作的专著Finite Element Methods for Eigenvalue ProblemsTaylor & Francis公司于2016年出版。
